The ‘Corrida Picassiana’ of Málaga has become a must in La Malagueta. The art of painting and bullfighting merge into an afternoon that is an honor for the bullfighters who make the walk.

Why is the Picassian Bullfight of Málaga celebrated?

Everyone knows that Pablo Ruiz Picasso has been the most universal artist from Málaga and, in addition, was a great fan of bullfighting and expressed his passion in much of his work throughout his life. Picasso brought the ‘Fiesta’of the bulls to all corners of the world.

So in 2003 the idea arose to honor him in the Bullring of Málaga, with a purely artistic bullfight: the bullring decorated with works inspired by the painter and bullfighters wearing dresses inspired equally with Picassian motifs. It is a bullfight unique in the world.

When is the Picassian Corrida? 

Although the ‘Corrida Picassiana’ of Málaga has gone through different dates, it currently takes place during the Málaga Fair, in the month of August.

The Toros del Mediterráneo company sets up for this day a stunning poster of that usually hangs the ‘No tickets’; in addition to having a leading artist to decorate La Malagueta.
