The Lady of the Forsaken (La Virgen de los Desamparados), besides being the patron saint of the city of Valencia, was canonically crowned in 1923 in the presence of the kings of Spain and various ecclesiastical authorities.
The second Sunday of May, all Valencians have a date with "The Geperudeta" (named for the position of head down), the Missa de Descoberta, Missa d'Infants, Shuttle (at which Valencians express so spontaneous devotion) and procession are the most awaited by thousands of faithful moments.
