The province of Cádiz has a long bullfighting tradition, in fact there are indications that bullfighting as it's known today, afoot, began here; and also has one of the largest number of bullrings of the country. The number of bullfighting fairs and festivals to choose from is enormous, highlighting the Jerez Horse Fair, with international importance; or the traditional Fair of Algeciras.
Algodonales is a town in Cádiz located in the 'Sierra de Líjar', at the northern entrance of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, which is part of the White Villages Route. Agriculture and rural tourism are its main sources of income, being its olive oil of recognized quality. Its geographical location and the climate of the area have made it a key destination for aerial sports, free flight, as well as adventure sports. Its guitar makers are also famous.
Among its monuments, there is the Parochial Church of Santa Ana, of late Baroque style, or the twelve fountains scattered around the town, such as the 'Algarrobo'.

After thirteen years without bullfighting celebrations, in 2017 the Bullfighting Fair was recovered with Montes de Oca steers for the horseback-bullfighters José Antonio Mancebo and Ginés Cartagena and the debutant Luis Sánchez Zambrano. They all went out on shoulders ('Puerta Grande') and the cattle rancher went around the ring.
In 2018 a mixed bullfight was held with a Prieto de la Cal bull for the horseback-bullfighter Ana Rita; two from Albarreal and two from Soto de la Fuente for the bullfighters Javier Conde and Julio Benítez 'El Cordobés'; with all of them on shoulders.
