Bullring Zafra

The Bullring of Zafra was inaugurated on August 18TH, 1844 with Romero Valmesada bulls that were lidiados and estoqueados by the matador Juan Blanco. It is located south of the town, began construction in 1834 by municipal ordinance, to provide livelihood to the working class, somewhat troubled by the fear that caused cholera, wrote Madoz middle of the nineteenth century; built that year around the outer circle, remaining in that state until 1842, that the people invited by the Municipal Corporation decided 76 people from wealthier to subscribe for 76 shares in 1300 reais each, to build the plaza, acquiring property rights to the 76 boxes that consists, drawn to shareholders.
Partially sunk in December 1844 and was not repaired until 1848 reformed.

The Zafra Bullfighting Fair traditionally takes place during the first weekend of October, coinciding with the International Livestock Fair of San Miguel.

What do you need to know before going to the bullfights in Zafra?
