Aranjuez presents its prestigious San Fernando bullfight with a first-class line-up

On Sunday, 1st June, the bullring of Aranjuez will once again dress in splendour to host one of its most emblematic events: the Corrida de San Fernando, a celebration steeped in history, beauty and pure artistry. Circuitos Taurinos has unveiled the official poster today, bringing together three undisputed masters of modern bullfighting and turning Aranjuez into the epicentre of the taurine world at the start of June.

At midday today, the renowned restaurant El Tomate in Aranjuez hosted the official presentation of the Celebration of the Art of Bullfighting, a deeply rooted event in the taurine calendar that will take place on 1st June in the unique and historic setting of the Aranjuez bullring, in honour of San Fernando’s Day.

Remaining faithful to the prestige and tradition of this iconic arena, the poster features three towering figures in contemporary bullfighting: Morante de la Puebla, José María Manzanares and Juan Ortega, who will face bulls from the esteemed Núñez del Cuvillo ranch. An extraordinary blend of flair, classicism and bravery promises an unforgettable afternoon.

The event was hosted by journalist Javier Fernández Mardomingo and was attended by several notable figures, including Don Miguel Gómez, the Mayor of Aranjuez; Mercedes Rico, Councillor for Taurine Affairs; and Carlos Zúñiga, managing director of Circuitos Taurinos.

Mayor Gómez emphasised the symbolic and cultural significance of this traditional festivity: “That morning smells and feels different. It’s an atmosphere that must be experienced because Aranjuez is the very temple of beauty.” He also spoke in defence of bullfighting as a cultural heritage: “The bull doesn’t follow trends; it belongs to the cultural identity of our country.”

Carlos Zúñiga likewise underlined the quality of this year’s line-up: “This event is a true luxury, both in terms of the toreros and the setting. Aranjuez is living history in the world of bullfighting, and for all involved, it’s a privilege to keep writing that story year after year.”

The poster design was created by Noel Herrero, a regular artistic collaborator with Circuitos Taurinos, while the image was illustrated by Paula Granados Baltuille, a young artist with a background in Law and International Relations, who has brought her refined artistic sensitivity to this unique piece.

Tickets for the Corrida de San Fernando are now available through Servitoro, the official platform for bullfight ticket sales. Don’t miss your chance to witness an unrepeatable day in one of Spain’s most beautiful and historic taurine settings.
