Fernando Adrián pardons ‘Cantaclaro’ and leaves on shoulders in Palencia

On 30 August 2023, the second bullfight of the Feria de San Antolín in Palencia was a resounding success, with the bull ‘Cantaclaro’ from the Luis Algarra ranch being pardoned by the bullfighter Fernando Adrián. The bullfight, which was also attended by Sebastián Castella and Miguel Ángel Perera, was marked by the quality of the cattle and the high level of the bullfighters.

Sebastián Castella opened the evening with a standing ovation, although his bull did not allow him to round off the bullfight. Miguel Ángel Perera cut two ears after a very important bullfight with ‘Cartelero’. Fernando Adrián, in the third bull, showed dedication and skill, cutting an ear. Castella cut another ear on the fourth bull, while Perera received a standing ovation on the fifth.

The highlight of the evening was Fernando Adrián's reprieve of ‘Cantaclaro’, the sixth bull, after a vibrant and resounding bullfight. Adrián symbolically cut off two ears and a tail, leaving an indelible mark on the audience. The evening ended with Adrián and Perera walking out on the shoulders through the main door, consolidating an unforgettable day at the Feria Taurina de San Antolín.
