23 years of alternative have built the legend of the most important bullfighter of our days and, surely, one of the most outstanding of all history. A trajectory full of milestones that we remember every time he steps on a bullring again. And we have a date: June 29 in Algeciras, Cádiz.

The story of a myth

José Tomás is, undoubtedly, the bullfighter who moves the masses in the Spanish ring. Each of his (few) performances goes beyond the line of a bullfight, becoming a real event for the chosen population and that is within the reach of only a few.

When the phenomenon from Galapagar (Madrid) confirms his presence at a fair, the host city or town begins to prepare for what is a brutal injection at all levels. The economic impact of a fair is always important and very positive, but if also José Tomás bullfights, the numbers multiply. The benefits are counted in millions of euros.

The keys of his return

Two years have the Spanish fans without enjoying the bullfighter José Tomás. The last paseíllo (walk) in national bullrings was in September 2016 at Valladolid Fair, although in Mexico he did it on December 12 due to the great bullfight in favor of the victims of the earthquakes that devastated the country.

At the end of April the mystery was unveiled and the management company of the Algeciras, Lances de Futuro, announced its reappearance on June 29 as part of its fair. Later we learned that it would be a hand in hand with another bullfighting figure: Miguel Ángel Perera.

Lances de Futuro has announced the presence of the bullfighter on June 29 in the town of Cádiz

The mystery was revealed. There is already a confirmed date and place for the expected return of José Tomás. The management company of the bullring of Algeciras, Lances de Futuro, announced last night the hiring of the bullfighter from Madrid for the fair, specifically it will be on Friday, June 29 when he returns to dress up with lights. At the moment no more details are known, neither poster nor livestock; but it does not matter, José Tomás returns.

The Fair of Algeciras becomes in this way one of the great claims of the year and promises to be a success for both the company and the city.
