Plaza 1 announces the First Bullfighting Fine Arts Competition

Called the I Contest of Fine Arts Bullfighting

Plaza 1 announces the I Contest of Fine Arts Bullfighting endowed with € 6,000 to a single winner. Paintings, drawings and sculptures may be submitted, up to a maximum of three per artist, alternating techniques if desired, and will be evaluated in a single category. The works submitted may be used in the different bullfighting fairs and celebrations held in Las Ventas and reproduced in the posters presented in the magazine, hand program, official website of Las Ventas, app, social networks and any of the media managed by Plaza 1. The theme of the works will be free but must keep some relationship with the cultural and artistic value of bullfighting and Madrid, the world capital of bullfighting. Participation is free, with no age limit, place of residence or education.

The deadline for submission of originals will open on February 1 and will be open until February 28, 2017, both included. Paintings and drawings must be submitted in original support and in 50 cm. wide x 70 cm. high format; accompanied by a copy in PDF or JPG electronic format at a resolution of 300 dpi. In the case of sculptures, the size will be free at the artist's choice, accompanied by a photograph of the work in electronic format with a resolution of 300 dpi. In all cases, participants must indicate their personal data (name, surname, telephone, e-mail, address, technique used and title of the work).

The jury's decision, composed of members of the company Plaza 1, as well as members of the Center for Bullfighting Affairs of the Community of Madrid, will be made on March 15 and will be published within the following two working days.
