On 1st March, the historic bullring of Constantina (Seville) will host an exciting bullfighting event, marking the start of the season in the province. Organised by Chipé Producciones, led by Pedro Pérez 'Chicote', the event showcases emerging talent in bullfighting alongside a top-class rejoneadora.
The show, scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM, will feature six bulls from the renowned Lora Sangrán ranch. These will be fought by the distinguished rejoneadora Lea Vicens and the Sevillian novilleros Diego Bastos and Javier Zulueta, two young prospects poised for major appearances at the top fairs in the bullfighting calendar.
Pedro Pérez 'Chicote', the organiser of this event, expressed his excitement about the line-up: "We have crafted a well-rounded line-up that blends the quality of rejoneo with the freshness of two rising novilleros. It’s an excellent draw for local enthusiasts and a unique opportunity to enjoy a fantastic bullfighting afternoon in Constantina."
The event enjoys the full support of the Town Hall and the Constantina Cultural Bullfighting Association, both working together to strengthen the presence of bullfighting in the town. Rubén Rivera, the Mayor of Constantina, remarked: "We want our bullring to shine again and become a benchmark in the region. This event is a strong step towards achieving that goal."
Fernando Ramón Lira, representing the Bullfighting Association, highlighted the joint effort behind this event: "Reviving the bullfighting tradition in Constantina is a challenge we approach with passion. This line-up reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality events and keeping our heritage alive."
The performers themselves expressed their excitement about being part of this special occasion. Lea Vicens emphasised the event’s appeal: "It’s a privilege to start the year in a bullring with such a rich history. Sharing the stage with such promising young talents makes it even more special."
Meanwhile, novilleros Diego Bastos and Javier Zulueta, both with roots in Seville, spoke about the significance of this opportunity. Bastos stated: "It’s a very special day; performing in my hometown always holds extra meaning," while Zulueta invited fans to attend: "Constantina is the perfect place to enjoy a complete bullfighting experience."
On 1st March, tradition, passion, and artistry come together in Constantina. This line-up has been carefully designed to captivate both seasoned aficionados and those looking to enjoy an unforgettable afternoon in Seville’s picturesque province. Don’t miss this extraordinary event!
