Julio Méndez Joins the Madrid Novillada Circuit 2025

Julio Méndez, the promising novice bullfighter from Extremadura, has been confirmed as a participant in the Madrid Novillada Circuit 2025. Méndez will represent the Badajoz Bullfighting School following an exchange agreement with the José Cubero "Yiyo" Bullfighting School.

The young novillero has closed a stellar year, topping the non-picador rankings after participating in 52 novilladas and earning a total of 84 ears. These impressive figures affirm his position as one of the standout names of 2024. Furthermore, his achievements include victories in prestigious competitions such as Kilómetro Cero, the Zapato de Plata, the Dax Novillada Cycle, and the Piña de Oro, cementing his status as one of the rising stars of bullfighting.

On 22 February, the Mérida Bullring will witness a key moment in Méndez's career as he makes his debut with picadors against bulls from the José Luis Pereda ranch. This milestone event will not only mark a turning point in his journey but will also position him as one of the leading prospects in the professional circuit.

With his inclusion, Julio Méndez joins other confirmed novilleros for the Madrid Circuit, including Álvaro Serrano, Joel Ramírez, Luis Rivero, Sergio Rollón, Jairo López, and Cristiano Torres. The final participant to complete this distinguished lineup will be announced in the coming days.
